Legolandia - Build Beyond the Box
Problem
When you receive or purchase a Lego set, the fun usually ends once you’ve built the model shown on the box. Many Lego fans want to keep creating but aren’t sure what else they can build with the same set of bricks.
Solution
Legolandia introduces a playful randomizer that suggests alternative builds based on the sets you already own. With a single click, users can unlock new project ideas that extend the life of their Lego sets.
Validity & Benefits
Encourages creativity by inspiring fresh builds
Provides a fun, engaging way to use existing bricks
Promotes sustainability by reusing what you already have
Offers an affordable alternative to buying new sets
Enhances the joy of Lego beyond the original instructions
Research & Branding
Colors: Inspired by the official Lego palette (primary red and yellow tones; exact color codes sourced for accuracy)
Style: Bold, playful, and nostalgic — mirroring Lego’s iconic branding while emphasizing imagination and reuse
My Role
I led the UX copywriting and design guidance for the project:
Defined the product voice and crafted copy across the site
Shaped the user journey to ensure a playful but intuitive experience
Guided design decisions to align with Lego’s recognizable style while keeping it original
Outcome
Legolandia was created as part of the Contra × Figma Makeathon (AI Design Competition). The result was a mobile-first, interactive web experience that blends creativity, fun, and sustainability. The project showcases how thoughtful copy and design direction can elevate a simple idea into an engaging product concept.
